Crafty Fall Fun

Just wanted to share some of the crafty fall things I am working on.
The first is a fun harvest banner for the family room.
The penant shapes are recycled cereal boxes, covered in scrapbook paper.
I made the letters with the Cricut, Storybook Cartridge.
The embellishments are different dies and punches.

This is the fall wallhanging I have been working on. It is made from Moda's Grand Finale. The center is a printed panel. I don't normally work with stuff like this, but I fell in love with the fabric. I have added a 1 1/2" border and will later add the half square triangles. I made those from 5" charm packs from the same fabric line.

I discovered a really nifty way to make the half square triangles.
Take 2 charms, layer them right sides together.
Sew around all 4 sides of the squares, using a 1/4" seam. Cut the squares twice on each diagonal and voila! You have 4 half square triangles. I squared mine to 3".

As soon as I can figure the math to make all the sides come out evenly I will finish it. I am going to quilt it on my regular sewing machine, it isn't really big enough to put in the quilt frame.

Thanks for looking!
